God is our refuge and strength,
Such a present help in trouble;
Preserving at any length,
Rescuing us from the rubble.
Therefore, we shall not ever fear,
Although the earth should be removed;
While the land may disappear,
Even as the mountains be moved.
Though as the waters roar and foam,
While the mountains may tremble;
The fish will continue to roam,
Come together and assemble.
The streams whereof makes glad a city,
Of God’s holy habitation;
Gold and silver shines so pretty,
All pure and no imitation.
God will be in the midst of her,
The city shall never be moved;
Seen perfectly without a blur,
How it looks the Lord has approved.
God will help her in early dawn,
Nations rage and kingdoms totter;
He utters to make the earth gone,
Along with all of the water.
The Lord of Hosts has been with us,
God of Jacob our fortress;
Sheltered by His right arm as thus,
A refuge at these times of stress.
Come behold the works of the Lord,
He brought desolations on earth;
His power cannot be ignored,
Of a place with a priceless worth.
He makes wars on the earth to cease,
He breaks the bow shatters the spear;
Burning chariots ensures peace,
All hostilities disappear.
Be still and know that He is God,
Exalted amongst the nation;
Those who will honor and laud,
Will become a new creation.
