A misery from the cradle

Looking on the black side, never saw the light,

Looking on the dark side, nothing ever right.

A misery from the cradle, a doomster born and

Bred, day and night he prayed for cake, got acid

Drops instead.

Life is rarely easy, you don’t get all you want,

The trick is be contented with all the things you got.

His wife has done a runner, for one, I’m not surprised,

His negative reflections, left her close to suicide.

Life is what you make it, with guts and self-belief,

What you need are rolled up sleeves and the mindset

To succeed. Initiative and reason, enterprise and brains,

Get-up-and-go, lo and behold, you’re on a roll again.

Put aside your bitterness, self-pity and disdain,

Scorn not, deride or otherwise despise what others

Praise. You’ll feel much better for it, the angst and

Gloom contained, take up a spade and dig yourself,

Out of the hole you’ve made.
