Like me you have no doubt walked down Misery Street
To find that pain was the only thing that you`d meet
And you carried with you a heart full of sorrow
Knowing that it would be the same tomorrow.
Day in and day out the same path you would take
The feelings of regret and despair you can`t shake,
But something has to give you can`t go on like this
Or you will disappear into the ever present abyss.
But slowly and surely you turn yourself around
You find your feet walking on different ground,
Your direction has changed and your luck shifting
You look up to see that the dark clouds are lifting.
Your heart becomes lighter with every step you take
This could finally be your long overdue break,
No longer look at the ground but lift your head high
Don`t look back at the past just wave it goodbye.
You`re out of the woods now and on the right track
You thought you were beat but fought your way back,
This road that you`re on is smoother than the last
You mark my words there will be a large contrast.
So now that we have left Misery Street far behind
There`s no burden to carry just peace of mind to find,
At one time or another we just went the wrong way
But we won`t go back on the new path we will stay.
