Poetic Verses
The Hardest Part of Writing
The hardest part of writing
Is to lay it on the line
And subject myself to being judged
Adept or asinine.
Which requires a bit of courage
Just to let somebody see
Though with a guarded reticence
To reveal that part of me.
Unsure how I'll be taken
Whether lauded or decried
But even if rejected
I'll at least know that I tried.
Yes, to put it out there for critique
And be judged by my own merit
Is the hardest part of writing
Only if choose to share it.
Is to lay it on the line
And subject myself to being judged
Adept or asinine.
Which requires a bit of courage
Just to let somebody see
Though with a guarded reticence
To reveal that part of me.
Unsure how I'll be taken
Whether lauded or decried
But even if rejected
I'll at least know that I tried.
Yes, to put it out there for critique
And be judged by my own merit
Is the hardest part of writing
Only if choose to share it.
