He’s a Professional Protester
Just give him a cause to care,
Tell where the next demo is
And sure as hell he’ll be there.
Dressed in neutral colours,
He doesn’t want to stand out
He’ll stand hidden in the centre
Organising all the slogan shouts.
With his own picket board,
Message always up to date
And his eyes flash with frenzy
As he screams out his hate.
He’s good at agitating
Putting authority to the test
And he proudly boasts that he’s
Always managed to evade arrest.
He’ll smile with satisfaction
As he quietly slips away
After turning a peaceful demo
Into another violent day.
He’s so very very careful
Always aware and alert
Ready to scream fcul
If by chance he got hurt
He’s a dedicated Protester,
Any old cause will do,
He’ll stand in the background
Inciting folk like me and you.
He sits at home in his anonymity
Watching the news on TV
The results of all his efforts
Displayed there for all to see
He doesn't have his own beliefs
Other than hating the status quo
And his rucksack s always ready
So he can quickly up amd go,
Join the latestpeaceful march
When his mission is complete
If he can turn and mould it into
Chaos and violece on the street.
And he’s so proud of his part,
Time of to take stock, to pause
Time to do his research, to take
Advantage of the latest cause.
He’s the Protesters’ Protester
And he’ll never let you down
You’ll see him and his ilk
At the next demo in your town.
