Looking Through My Life's Window
My Life's Book
My life's book
Is a series of chapters
I was the youngest of three
Back then life brought such laughter
Adolescence brought life changes
With an absent mother
When school was out
We were sent to others
Don't get me wrong
Her care wasn't as it should
But she did love us
The only way she could
Oh the teen years
Were filled with many challenges
Changes raging thru me
Ahead so many unknown bridges
But it is then
My voice was found
I spoke my heart
My opinion newfound
As an adult
With two children on our own
Many hard lessons learned
Looking back, oh how I had grown
But I still had no idea
Of the who I was
Being what others wanted
One of my biggest flaws
It took me years
Of really digging deep
But finally I found
The me to keep
In my last chapter
I like who I became
I am who I am
Is my greatest life's fame.
But I owe who I am
to one so dear
By example you showed
I had nothing to fear
Happy Father's Day Poppa
I love and miss you so much
Thank You For Being My Dad

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
