This poem was written more in the vein of a song, but I wanted to share it with all of my poetry fans before the song is completed - I'm collaborating with a music composer right now.
Thanks for reading!
Time keeps slipping
off the shelf like glass
when tremors come
And love keeps crashing
to the ground, burning out
like a fallen sun
Words keep tumbling
from your lips flooding
over a broken dam
My thoughts just swirl
like a Kansas storm...
make me wonder who I am
Now what is life
and where are you
I'm losing energy
Without you here
the world's gone gray
there's nothing here to see
Pride keeps me hoping
you'll return like the tide
comes rolling in
Mem'ries just keep
playing back like old reruns...
just can't win
Now what is life
and where is joy
I'm losing energy
Without you here
the world's gone gray
no happiness for me
Now what is life
and where is love
I'm losing energy
Without you here
the world's gone gray
there's nothing left of me
