 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

Deacons must be dignified,
Not addicted to much wine;
Rather to be purified,
With glory that makes them shine.

Never be as double-tongued,
Nor greedy for filthy gain;
Profanity must not be flung,
Because it does cause God’s pain.

They must hold the mystery,
Of faith with a clear conscience;
Having a clean history,
With tolerance and patience.

So, let them be tested first,
Proving themselves as blameless;
Never to hunger and thirst,
Being fed as God will bless.

Their wives must be dignified,
Sober-minded and faithful;
In spirit be glorified,
As humbled and merciful.

Deacons have only one wife,
Managing their children well;
Remain as one through your life,
In harmony that they dwell.

Deacons gain a good standing,
Having a great confidence;
Do as God is demanding,
Never be in defiance.

I am writing so that you,
For setting an example;
To Jesus remaining true,
While preaching the Gospel.

You should know how to behave,
As a steward of the church;
Let sin not make you a slave,
Pray in your spiritual search.

The mystery we confess,
In the flesh manifested;
Vindicated that will bless,
If you are ever tested.

By the angels being seen,
Amongst the nations proclaimed;
Believing of what has been,
The Gospel not be ashamed.
