God`s Our FatherListen to the news tonight and hear, The stories of a war-torn world in fear. See the vacant sorrow on their face. Look at bellies swollen, hellish place. Swarming flies live better lives than them. Speak, oh let us help our fellow men. Think how you would be if she was yours, That broken child who`s crying hopeless tears. Do what you can and do not hide from truth, This family needs some food, some clothes, a roof. Miss the bingo just for once today To help that child to run and jump and play. See and hear and listen, don`t ignore Forgotten children on that distant shore. So easy just to turn around you see, Say,`What has that child got to do with me`. But that`s your sister he`s your brother, That`s your child and she`s your mother. This world`s a family or if you`d rather. Just remember, God`s Our Father. Vote for this poem |
