O man of God, flee these things,
Pursue righteousness, faith, and love;
Because of what godliness brings,
Through steadfastness from above.
For your faith fight the good fight,
Take hold of eternal life;
As you remain in the light,
It will help you through the strife.
You made the good confession,
In front of the witnesses;
For erasing your transgression,
And immoral sicknesses.
Keep His commandment unstained,
Freedom of any upbraid;
That the precepts be sustained,
As Jesus Christ has conveyed.
He will display at a time,
Being as the Lord of lords;
For judgments of any crime,
Derogatory discords.
Those with immorality,
Dwelling in an offish light;
Exposing carnality,
That their faith has no insight.
As for the rich at this time,
Charge not them to be haughty;
Set their hopes their faith will climb,
Noble displays as lofty.
Their good works will bring them wealth,
Generous, willing to share;
Building their spiritual health,
Showing others that they care.
Wealth stored for a foundation,
Lay hold of eternal life;
Which will bring them salvation,
Tolerating from the strife.
Guard the deposit of trust,
Avoiding contradiction;
Unswerving going to lust,
Or another addiction.
