I Remember When
I Remember When
It really does not seem
All that long ago
Regardless of color
Brother to brother knew no foe
Times were much better
Of no bitterness and hate
I guess little did I know
What could be our fate
The color of ones skin
Was not a factor
The contents of the heart
Was the true attractor
I was not aware
Of hate like we have today
We went about our life
Helping each other along the way
I understand the cries
Of equality not given
But what can be solved
When hate is so driven
It seems to those
Who bitterly seek power
Slavery taught nothing
As with now every motion showers
Why did it breed
From where did it evolve
One thing I do know
Only we can resolve
We must find a way
To change our life's pace
Back to friend with friend
Not race against race
Not all will come together
And answer this plea
But those who do
What a force we would be
I pray in the future
We look back and see
What hate can do
To the land of the free
Lets all be vigilant
And to each other be dutiful
Look deep in to each heart
Let us see the beautiful

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
