What was the beginning,
In which of we have heard;
Having seen the sinning,
As written in the Word.
We see through our eyes,
And touched with our hands;
The Word of life is wise,
Reflecting God’s commands.
Life was made manifest,
We saw to testify;
Proclaiming at my best,
Which I cannot deny.
Because what we have seen,
And heard as we proclaim;
Fellowship that has been,
Of what I overcame.
Fellowship with the Son,
As well as the Father;
All of what has been done,
Gave Christ as a Brother.
We are writing these things,
So that joy is complete;
With the fullness it brings,
Never feeling defeat.
This message we have heard,
Proclaimed that God is light;
As stated in the Word,
With no darkness of night.
If fellowship we say,
While walking in dark;
We lie and disobey,
The shadows we embark.
We practice not the truth,
But walking in the light;
Never rude or uncouth,
With glory shining bright.
To say we have no sin,
Ourselves we deceive;
The truth is not within,
And Christ do not believe.
But sins if we confess,
God is just to forgive;
Will cleanse unrighteousness,
To eternally live.
