My soul clings to dust,
For giving me life;
In the Word I trust,
As I battle strife.
When told of my ways,
The Lord answered me;
Teach statutes all days,
For insight to see.
Make me understand,
Ways of His precepts;
Reflect to demand,
What the Lord accepts.
My soul melts away,
Heavy with sorrow;
People gone astray,
Like no tomorrow.
Take the false way far,
Strengthened in His Word;
Not to get a scar,
From blasphemy heard.
Remove the lying,
Reinforce His Law;
Always to rely,
Not getting a flaw.
Of the way of truth,
Is the way I chose;
Never as uncouth,
Rather as God shows.
For I set the rules,
As judgment is laid;
That condemn the fools,
For the sin they made.
I am not ashamed,
As I testify;
Let it be proclaimed,
And never deny.
I run in the way,
Of His commandments;
In the truth I say,
Of His achievements.
