The sun slips away as I rock you sound asleep
Softly humming a melody that ages will keep
Your eyes searches the room while I whisper a tune
Hush my son, silver night appears soon
Your restless moments become undone
sweet lullaby draws you close to angels sighs
A warm and loving refrain, that is for all time
Strong and loving arms and purity, I bid goodnight son
One day you will recite this song
Sing it out sweet and long, where lullabies belong
