He is the image of God,
The firstborn of creation;
To whom we honor and laud,
For seeking salvation.
By Him, all things created,
Up in Heaven and on earth;
The Father is elated,
Every creature of birth.
Both of seen and the unseen,
Whether thrones or dominions;
What will be or that has been,
Man and woman as unions.
For He is before all things,
All things together are held;
For the unity it brings,
Where in harmony have dwelled.
Of the body as the head,
For the church, a foundation;
As the firstborn from the dead,
Leading us to salvation.
For the Father who is pleased,
That in Him, all fullness dwell;
Through the Son, who has appeased,
Of thence previously fell.
Through Him we reconcile,
Whether on earth or Heaven;
A spiritual lifestyle,
The blood of His cross given.
You were alienated,
Hostile in mind and evil;
Your life contaminated,
By the works of the devil.
His body reconciled,
Body of flesh by His death;
You have been made His child,
By baptism and new breath.
To present you as holy,
Blameless and above reproach;
The Father as your only,
For His Word being your coach.
Continue in faith steadfast,
And shifting not from the hope;
Proclaimed what will ever last,
Your endurance that will cope.
