Childish Paradigm

Our present social ills reflect
A childish paradigm
Revealed by how we oft react
To the temper of the time.

When we form harsh conclusions
And assume the very worst
We allow hearsay and whisperings
To satisfy our thirst.

When we say some are sneaky
And unworthy of respect
Our rampant paranoia serves
To make us all suspect.

When we trivialize the Golden Rule
In this, the modern age
We begin to hate yet don't know why
Our hearts are filled with rage.

But these and other social ills
Can be improved with time
By allowing God to guide our thoughts
And end this paradigm.
