In pondering my thoughts
About our young adults of today
So much invested
Without just pay
You invest twelve years
And get your favorite college call
You invest another four
And Bam you hit a brick wall
Because of life's conditions
Your labors you can't celebrate
But you take it on your cuff
The next step you never hesitate
In pushing forward
So quickly you find
Today's circumstances
Are far from kind
At a very tender age
You taste of life's harshness
But you must shield your heart
From allowing bitterness
Interviews for jobs come
Then all too quickly go
You find yourself wondering
When will my life begin to sow
The opportunities are few
The demand is large
But remember you're not alone
On this lost hardship barge
You worked so hard
To reach this plateau
With no immediate reward
Feeling stuck.. Nowhere to go
But ahh the Class of 2020
Is a very special breed
Your strength is being built
For this world's future needs
Don't let it get you down
Or feel a personal failure
Just look over your shoulder
And let your past build the future
You have been given a burden
Like none before
Through family love and support
You will even the score
Be ever vigilant… Listen to Him
He will not lead you astray
He is always with you
Give thanks unto Him as you pray
Don't let the clouds
Obscure your view
I have so much faith
in all you do
Just keep the faith
In who you are
And I promise you will reach
Your life's shining star....

Who is everything his elders
Could ever wish for. He is
Smart, polite, so kind with
A huge heart. I pray he
Realizes all the awesome
Things he will accomplish
But it will come in God's time
How much love and pride
we all have for him.
