Poetic Verses
Untombed
In the dark and quiet
and when the world lies sleeping
When I awaken from my own slumber
With words that come a creeping
In the early morning hours
before sun should even rise
By dim moonlit window
peer out to dim lit skies
Words like quiet footfall
tiptoe through my head
and beckon me decipher them
from where I lie in bed
Before they fly away
Capture in a book
And free like butterflies
Whene'er I take a look
Sometimes they can be funny
Sometimes they bring a tear
But forever I will know
They'll always be right here
The bounty of fulfillment
The anger burning low
The things that tug the
Heartstrings
And things of long ago
Whatever the emotions
That fill up in my head
They tumble out in words I write
That later can be read
Usually in darkness
When the world is still
When they come creeping
Unto my mind they fill
Empty my emotion
Drain the feelings dry
Release them from my heart
And leave me with a sigh
In the darkened shadows
Of my dim lit room
Free the words inside me
Forever be untombed
