Seven Nations

This is the land Manitou gave us
His third and last creations
To husband and care for
The Red-man of the Seven Nations
And the  the White man came
Was offered a friendly hand
But they were far too greedy
Started stealing our land
Many battles were fought until
words of Peace were spoken
And many peace treaties signed
But all of them were broken.
Now the tribes barely survive
For years fighting just to live
On the land they allowed us and
on what they were prepared to give.
The land Manitou  gave us
Id no longer our given home
The plains no longer ours
The buffalo no longer roam.
We live with our legends
In the hope of that day when
We will be treated as equals
And the Seven Nations rise again.
