If you receive my word,
Treasure what I command;
Cling to what you have heard,
So that you understand.
Lean your ear for wisdom,
Inclining to your heart;
What waits in the Kingdom,
Never let it depart.
If you call for insight,
Raise your voice to realize;
That you will see the light,
If you open your eyes.
If you seek it like gold,
Search as hidden treasure;
God will help you to hold,
Those who He takes pleasure.
You will understand fear,
To find knowledge in God;
Learning how to revere,
As you honor and laud.
For the Lord gives wisdom,
Knowledge to understand;
The path to His Kingdom,
To obey His command.
He stores up sound wisdom,
Shields with integrity;
Righteous will with freedom,
Blocking iniquity.
He guards paths of justice,
Watching over His saints;
Avoiding any prejudice,
Blocking whatever taints.
Understand righteousness,
Justice and equity;
Every good path bless,
Rebuke iniquity.
Wisdom comes to your heart,
Discretion will guard you;
Allows you to impart,
Knowing that it is true.
