'' There's Influence In Your Written Word ''

Do you write to please?
Or perhaps to tease,
That choice is entirely yours,
To upset or appease,
You hold the keys,
What do think best reassures.

Some write to annoy,
The ire they enjoy,
Though it doesn't mean they are dense,
To them it's a toy,
Used as a ploy,
To draw you into pretence.

Others write to hurt,
They like being curt,
It endows them with a feeling of power,
Those expletives they blurt,
Gives them a spurt,
They just love to make others cower.

If you write for fun,
The tale being spun,
Will show you enjoy what you do,
No, it's not a pun,
But what you've begun,
Will ensure that they love it too.

So, write to express,
Be it joy or distress,
Do remember it's going on display,
Don't ever obsess,
That you need to impress,
Your morals you must never betray.

You're in control,
Your virtues extol,
Ignorance will make you feel blurred,
Do not dig a hole,
Never sell your soul,
