Not Guilty

How long ago my innocence
My childhood took away
Lost in time forever now
Why did he not pay.

The judges in their wisdom
Deemed he should go free
They said he was not guilty
So what does that make me?

I trusted him, I loved him
I thought the world was kind
Now I won`t trust any man
Even judges can be blind.

I was just a little girl
How could he hurt me so
But worse than that I ask you
Why did they let him go?

Condemned by men a liar
The victim pays the price
Just slap his hand and tell him
That wasn`t very nice.

Bleeding still inside my soul
No justice for abuse
I tried to tell them what he did
It wasn`t any use.

After all I had no proof
No one could hear my cry
To hell with them I know the truth
I know I did not lie.
