As you receive Jesus as Lord,
So walk rooted built up in Him;
Established and in one accord,
Experience in spiritual vim.
In your faith just as you were taught,
Abounding in your thanksgiving;
He will guide you of what is sought,
Every day in your living.
See that no one takes you captive,
By doctrine and empty deceit;
To human tradition to give,
Rudiments of the world’s effete.
For in Him dwells the whole fullness,
The deity of the Godhead;
Being filled having the boldness,
While on this earth as you tread.
You are filled with Him and complete,
Who has the principality;
Always fair and just no deceit,
As the head with authority.
In Him you have been circumcised,
Circumcision made without hands;
As sin of the flesh exorcised,
Spoken by Him as He commands.
Through baptism you are buried,
With faith in Him you have been raised;
As of the church you are married,
Part of the bride worshipped and praised.
You were dead in your trespasses,
Uncircumcision of your soul;
Which was hiding in crevasses,
Letting Satan be in control.
Blotting out the record of debt,
That stood against you throughout time;
Repenting on what you regret,
No longer to pay for the crime.
For it has been nailed to the cross,
No longer to be put to shame;
Triumphantly over your loss,
Making you able to proclaim.
