I found a garden that was totally over grown
No love or attention had it ever been shown,
It seemed a shame just to let it rot and die
So I thought I`d clear it and let it see the sky.
There was a lot of hardcore that just had to go
And what I would find there I didn`t really know,
I cleared away the rocks and the bramble too
Thick with thorns as with wild abandon they grew.
They were protection to keep it from being trodden on
But I removed the brambles and now they are gone,
Soon the light began to penetrate the dark within
I knew then that with this garden that I would win.
I could see the garden had had a lifetime of neglect
But deep down its true nature it did not affect,
All the goodness that it owned was still in the soil
Luckily it`s years of total abandon it did not spoil.
It now lay barren so it could no longer hide away
Open to the elements its worth now fully on display,
I saw in this garden that beautiful things would grow
And to the world its true nature it would at last show.
The seeds that were planted soon took a strong hold
But the true beauty of these were yet to unfold,
They pushed through the ground all bent over at first
But the years of neglect were slowly being reversed.
The shoots soon began to grow strong and straight
It was slowly being transformed into its previous state,
It was shown love and tended with a very gentle hand
But it was time well spent to restore this piece of land.
Now it feels the sun and can see the sky ever so blue
From this discarded land a very beautiful garden grew,
It`s beauty and true nature is evident in every way
And it`s beauty grows stronger with each passing day.
