Put to death what is earthly,
Any evil desires;
Considered idolatry,
That are lighting your fires.
For the sake walking the path,
In these you too had once walked;
On the account of the wrath,
That God has warned as He talked.
In these you too have once walked,
When you were living in them;
Where Satan already stalked,
God is prepared to condemn.
But you must put them away,
The anger and obscene talk;
The lust that causes to stray,
Start the straight and narrow walk.
Lie not to one another,
See that you put of the old;
That your deeds help your brother,
Letting a new life unfold.
You have to put on the new,
Be in the image of God;
Letting your knowledge renew,
While you honor and laud.
For there is not Greek or Jew,
Whether or not circumcised;
Allow your mind to construe,
And that Christ is glorified.
As a chosen one of God,
Keep a compassionate heart;
Avoiding to become flawed,
Humility to impart.
Bearing with one another,
That if one has a complaint;
You must forgive each other,
For your quarrel has restraint.
Let peace of Christ rule your heart,
Whatever in word or deed;
That the evil you can thwart,
As versus what God decreed.
