I urge that supplications, Be made by all the people; Their prayers of intercessions, Thanksgiving in the temple. For all in high positions, Lead a peaceful quiet life; Free from any aggressions, Free from the trials and strife. Be godly and dignified, That is pleasing also good; Remember the crucified, In all that is understood. This is pleasing to His sight, Honesty to our Savior; Continue to be upright, And He will shine His favor. Show desire all be saved, With the knowledge of the truth; No longer sin be enslaved, Nor that they become uncouth. There is one mediator, Who is the Lord Jesus Christ; One God as the Creator, Whose Son was sacrificed. Who was a ransom for all, Testified in proper time; Because Adam took the fall, Jesus paid for our crime. For this I am a preacher, And a poet for the Lord; Rhyming to be a teacher, And being in one accord. I speak the truth and not lie, Having the faith and the hope; Of a life after I die, For persevering to cope. Copyright © 2020 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
