Perspective

I've never had what you take for granted.
Like all of your things my name has a brand on it.
I have no roots to be potted and planted.
Just been livin' the simple life and, since I began it,
I have had to struggle for what you have had handed.
I've never asked for a thing and you demand it.
You're strikin' a pose when I'm keepin' it candid.
I've got no home here, I'm simply stranded.
The world's at your feet and I cant stand it.
I long for the sweet but, all I taste is rancid.
Here is a way to put it all into perspective,
Life is a hill and it depends on which way it's slanted.
For some of us, it seems to be so much steeper,
It's a life that will make for some much taller people,
