DAD

How he d hold us in his arms so tight
My little sister and I~
Saying softly how much he loved us so
But in his voice we could hear a cry~

His heart it was breaking up
At the same time he was protecting ours~
Our mum was out there somewhere
Breaking all her vows~

So much unselfish love Dad had to give
So much sincere care , stamina and inner strength~
He gave his best to us for life
And to do so went to any length~

He lived and died a dedicated father
He worked hard and long and gave his all~
I don't believe in life that I ll be ever be half the man he was
Before I hear my final call~

How he ever did what it was he did
For us back then alone~
He worked and at the same time
He gave us kids a home~

But that's the way life goes sometimes
And history repeats itself in time
As later on in my married life
I ended up as well raising mine~

They say that love solves everything
Well I'm telling you it don't~
Unless there is two working as one
It never will and wont~.
