My special wish for Christmas If I had a magic ladder, I’d climb Up to the top, I’d climb till I reached Heaven, and I’d have a word with God. Do you know what state your World is in? Have you had the time To care? Is it worth my time to make The climb? What of all those souls Down there?
If I had a magic mailbox, I’d bypass Santa Claus, a stocking full of Chinese Crap is hardly what I want. My thoughts Are with the elderly, the ill, and the infirm, And all those on a knife-edge struck by Worry and concern. And in that magic Mailbox, a goodwill thought for you, the Spirit of recovery, and the will to see This through.
If I had a magic rainbow, I’d cast it far And wide, a crock of gold for everyone That lockdown kept inside, I’d call upon A leprechaun to aid me in my task, A little Fairy mischief to conjure up a laugh. The Days would all be sunny, albeit wintertime, With hearty hugs for those you love, and Those that you just like. My special wish For Christmas? Three guesses? No, just One, A happy, healthy, world to come, Come 2021.
