Who is wise among you, And are understanding; Who is faithful and true, Bears to His commanding. By your good conduct show, Works in humbled wisdom; So that others will know, That you serve His Kingdom. But bitter jealousy, And selfish ambition; Being boastful and bossy, As in competition. Be not false in the truth, Causing strife in your heart; Think not like in your youth, Rather old ways depart. This wisdom not of love, Rather earthly evil; Think about from above, Not as from the devil. Where envy and strife lives, There will be confusion; For vile practice thrives, Causing an illusion. Wisdom above is pure, Full of mercy and grace; Good fruits that will assure, Having the Lord embrace. It is gentle with peace, And open to reason; A love that will not cease, For all things you have done. A harvest that is sown, In peace and righteousness; That in your heart has grown, Forgiving graciousness. Copyright © 2020 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
