I recently watched online movie The Perfect Gift
Vividly reminded how our nation has gone adrift
Join me as I unfold insights from storyline with you
May you be blessed and your heart touched too
Main plot, God removed from cancel culture society
Church sermons shifted to current events mentality
City law infringed nativity display on church property
Winter gala theme for office party at Mom's company
Setting is single mom and her spoiled daughter
Divorced, she works long hours to support her
Mom said presents would be fewer this year
Girl's expected gift list Mom repeatedly hears
Girl did not like her new school and was failing too
500 word essay "What is Christmas?" as option to do
Teacher said her class grade depended on completion
Girl was clueless on where to begin to find information
Stranger came to town, just appeared out of nowhere
Listened and attentive to needs of the people there
Skilled in carpentry, he took over building nativity set
I sense he was an angel sent by God with keen mindset
Each subplot in second stanza led to affirmative action
Associate pastor tired of senior minister's deception
Beyond the pulpit to emails as substitute for visitation
Resigned at the end to start Bible based congregation
The stranger gave girl reliable source books for essay
Grade motivation at first led to heart change one day
Girl encouraged Mom to stand up for Christmas party
Presented at board meeting and accepted by majority
The stranger stood up against nativity ban that day
Explained Christmas story in a simple and clear way
Fine at first enforced, but girl's selfless fine donation
Prompted others to pay the rest, led to restitution
City council dismissed, funds to shelter organization
The stranger said a nativity is a symbol to remind us
Of God's perfect gift of love sent the first Christmas
Keep Christ in Christmas, love given in God's Son
Receive His gift of John 3:16, spread it to everyone
Storyline is intertwined and repeated to some extent
Partly for prose flow but from more important context
Illustrating how each person had a specific role to play
Should prompt us to ask what action will we take today?
Merry CHRISTmas!

John 3:16 (ESV)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that
whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
