Righteousness is based on the Law, The commandments to live by them; For transgressions will cause a flaw, That God can easily condemn. But faith as based on righteousness, Says not for following the heart; Only heavenly joyousness, That you should follow to impart. Who shall descend into the deep, For bringing Christ up from the dead; Able to wake Him from His sleep, So that salvation you are fed. For the Word is near unto you, In your mouth and within your heart; Letting the Word of faith construe, To proclaim and never depart. If you confess with tongue and lips, Believing that Jesus is Lord; Your will unto Christ never slips, If you remain in one accord. Because with the heart one believes, Is justified if one confessed; The salvation that one receives, And cleansed from what they had transgressed. Whosoever does believe in Christ, They shall never be put to shame; In this world never be enticed, By anything it would acclaim. No distinction from Jew or Greek, Because the Lord is Lord of all; Bestowing riches who would seek, Upon Him He answers their call. For whosoever call on His name, By their confession shall be saved; That Jesus is Lord they proclaim, Rescued from the sin that enslaved. Copyright © 2020 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
