I first ever got on a horse
When I was only five true
Brown paddock next door
Cljmbed the fence got on too
It bucked I and hung on tightly
Got rid of me there on a rock
Belonged to Gordan Goolding
Watching me in total shock
Now Tumut high school there
Just then 74 years ago his bro
Had more luck with eldest sister
Together awhile as one to go
Been on horses ever since then
Since old Eurall had a riding school
Half dead nags wired up saddles
A half pint kid still a cowboy fool
Been tiding on Ranches U A of A
On some I met along the way
Cowboy outfitters like Sheplers
Hats jeans shirts way more to say
Traveled the states back long ago
Wrote songs poetry since sixteen
Still do so on www.Poetrypoem/aussiepoet
Of thoughts tales stories places been
I to this day think my family read one
The rely on selective memories so
I played guitar before a coma in 76
Three months but I'm fine to go
But it was always horses with myself
Loved them the life as I do gentle rain
On a tin roof nights on windows or tent
Natures music helping me sleep again
My family it's all about making money
Nothing beats an oldest country song
