LONELY NIGHTS
~LONELY NIGHTS~
This side or that one
is not a question.
Whichever is the side
I simply can't sleep.
I try total darkness
to very bright light
but nothing works
and I cannot sleep.
Heart is like a lost
child in a big crowd
looking for a face
that it knows so well.
Lonely heart is lost
in the deep sorrow
sliding deeper with
the passing of time.
Intense bleak and
smothering black
darkness has a hold
on my lonely heart.
Days are so bad but
nights are worse with
silence and darkness
smothering my soul.
