We know that Christ laid down His life, We ought to lay down our lives; For our brothers in the strife, Giving insight for our eyes. If anyone has the world’s goods, Sees that his brothers are in need; Render aid for their livelihoods, And doing as God has decreed. Yet you have blocked His compassion, Closing his heart against the Lord; A love in spiritual fashion, Not letting His decrees ignored. Let us not love in word or talk, Rather through deeds as in the truth; Following the Word as you walk, Never to be rude or uncouth. We shall know we are of the truth, Before Him we reassure the heart; That in God we are as His youth, With every Word we impart. Whenever our heart condemns, God is greater than our heart; That any decree from God stems, Knows everything from the start. If our heart does not condemn, We have confidence before God; Calming the chaos and mayhem. For others to honor and laud. Whatever we ask we receive, Because we keep His precepts; With a faith causes to believe, What the Word teaches His concepts. His commandment that we believe, In the name of Jesus His Son; Love each other that we receive, As He commanded to be done. Whoever does keep His precepts, Abides in God and God in him; By abiding means one accepts, His Spirit gives spiritual vim. Copyright © 2020 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
