Lean me up against a wall We've got no money, We've got no car, The little we got won't take us far, But when night-time comes Under twinkling stars, You can lean me up against a wall and love me.
We got an old tin shack, On a rocky slope, We got a skinny horse an' a sickly goat, but when the lightning bugs Tell the moon to get up, You can lean me up against a wall and love me.
We got an empty barn, We got empty fields, A lockdown year, such a terrible yield, But when the sun goes down Hear the nightjars call, You can lean me up against a wall and love me.
Lockdown crazy Can’t go outside, The store closed down, an’ the streets are quiet, But on New Year’s Eve Here with nothin’ on,
You can lean me up against a wall and love me.
