Remember that at one time,
In the flesh as Gentiles;
You were had committed crime,
As part of your lifestyle.
You were separate from Christ,
Alienated as strangers;
While the world had enticed,
Overlooking the dangers.
Having no hope without God,
The covenants of promise;
Your idol was a fraud,
Unable to see justice.
But now Christ is in your life,
Who once had been far away;
Difficult to cope with strife,
Because you had gone astray.
The blood of Christ brought you near,
Because He is our peace;
And taught you how to revere,
Internal conflicts to cease.
His flesh having abolished,
Of the wall that had once stood;
His Spirit came and polished,
Erasing earthly falsehood.
He reconciled you to God,
In one body through the cross;
So if you honor and laud,
It is your gain for His loss.
He came to preach peace to you,
Peace unto those who were near;
Everything said was true,
To understand how to fear.
For through Him we have access,
One Spirit to the Father;
Confession so He can bless,
As you call Christ your Brother.
No longer are you strangers,
Rather citizens as saints;
Earth no longer endangers,
You with detours of restraints.
You are free from any guilt,
For Christ is the cornerstone;
A foundation that He built,
In Him, you are not alone.
