I heard this voice saying
You really gave us a scare,
I opened my eyes to smile
At the nurse standing there.
I saw my family gathering
Stretching back many a year
I could almost touch them
They were standing so near
All of them were smiling
Some stood with open arms
Then I was jerked back by
The life support alarms.O
I smiled at them and said
I’m not coming yet, not today,
And watched as my family
Started to slowly fade away.
Time to carry on living
Time to carry on the fight:
So very tempting but
The time just wasn’t right.
Come the event
I wonder will I find
Them waiting or were they
Just creations of my mind.
