The Colors of Your Love

91038681-10207512538567705-5955645155804446720-n

  When the depth goes beyond
To a depth of a world so blue
Will you ‘feel our pain
From the depth, ‘of losing you?
Will it, carry through the distance
Like thunder in the sky
Or layer you in prism colors
Of a rainbow’s pale so high
The colors of your love
Run through each of our veins
And when you left this world
The skies cried out with rain
Oh, this world, This cold, cold world!
  Now faint of color true
Finds us falling to our knees
  And begging God for you!
Each day, a pale reminder
Of the emptiness adhered
Of tomorrows’ lies
That you will soon be here
  Will you ask, sweet Jesus
To hold us close for you
To take away this deepest pain
That broke our hearts in two
  You left our world shattered
   Scattered pieces everywhere
And the steps we take just lead
To the same old empty chair
   For Jesus shined his light
And called you home to stay
To wait on all the others
     Whom, too shall pass someday
