What shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who would curse; Because of the goodness God brings, No one could ever be adverse. He who did not spare His own Son, But gave Him up for all of us; Change the lives for everyone, To acknowledge their faith as thus. How will He not be graciously, All of these things so freely give; Having a life so spaciously, In His glory that we can live. Who would charge against the elect, Because it is God who justified; He does not forsake or neglect, Who witnessed of the crucified. Who is to condemn of who has died, After three days raised from the dead; From the cross where His mother cried, Then brought down after He had bled. Who would separate from His love, Shall distress, famine or the sword; There is no peril from above, To harm believers of the Lord. We are being killed all day long, Reckoned as sheep to be slaughtered; Punished by a wrath if done wrong, Gone away when we have wandered. We have been more than conquerors, Through Christ Jesus who has loved us; Never to be as bolsterers, Keeping the faith and hope as thus. I am sure neither death nor life, Nor angels, the powers to be; Could ever have caused that much strife, For making me too blind to see. Height nor depth in all creation, To separate from love of Christ; Saving and giving salvation, The reason He was sacrificed. Copyright © 2021 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
