Musings by The Poet Loriet

Leaving On A Jet Plane

He said she had too much baggage,
couldn't handle a Sampsonite,
was looking for a cosmetic bag.

A bit of advice: at our age,
nobody carries less than
an overnight bag.
We all have "carry-on luggage"
at the bare minimum.

Honey, besides being completely cliche'
you don't know what the hell
"baggage" means!

You might have grown up,
gotten your own place,
made your own way,
but you need to get out, travel,
see the world, have new experiences.

That's why I'm sending you
a one-way ticket to go
back-packing across Tibet
with nothing but a cosmetic bag.

Best of luck to you!
