'' What We Have, We Need To Embrace ''

The Human built craft, we named perseverance,
Has many gadgets and great coherence,
Sadly, its aim was interference,
On a planet out there in space.

The human mind, is filled with confliction,
Doing what we want, without jurisdiction,
For self-destruction, we have an addiction,
Our behaviour is a total disgrace.

We've no God given right, to reach for the stars,
No good reason, to encroach on Mars,
Our planet here, we have covered in scars,
Mass extinction, is the future we face.

Intelligence led, our claim is we care,
Yet it's from us ourselves, we need to beware,
Face the facts, we cannot live out there,
Soon here, there will be no trace.

How would we feel, if aliens came here?
Our desire would be, to make them disappear,
As time goes by, it will all become clear,
The death of the human race.

The prime directive, is clear and concise,
Cherish what you have, let it suffice,
Do not interfere, not at any price,
This Earth, we can never replace.

Forget solar travel, it cannot be endured,
Our planet is dying, but please rest assured,
If we start now, our woes can be cured,
