Powerful Realization
Man sometimes has to move away
From living in the past
And focus new-found energy
On things that truly last.
Not drowning in self-pity
But proffering a smile
With willingness and sure resolve
To go that extra mile.
And climb out of that dark abyss
Whose chains have held him bound
With courage new to seek the Lord
While yet He can be found.
That has to be a better plan
Than he had ever thought
To think he can escape the snare
In which his life is caught.

That he can start anew
And reconcile himself to God
And bid the past adieu!
