Poetic-Verses

'' Watch Where You Tread ''

What you are within,
Doesn't always come out,
What you begin,
You then start to doubt,
As excuses wear thin,
Lies start to sprout,
Believe me, there's trouble ahead.

Who you are, you forget,
It causes such stress,
You then aid and abet,
The creation of mess,
Living with regret,
Can be hard to address,
When with lies, you're being led.

When you believe,
That lies are the truth,
It's yourself you deceive,
You are being uncouth,
You are not so naοve,
You've the mind of a sleuth,
But your lying will fill you with dread.

You soon lose control,
Reality disappears,
You have sold your soul,
You'll be drowning in tears,
Sinking into that hole,
Confirms your worst fears,
Your life now hangs by a thread.

Why are you here?
You continue to ask,
Do not feel fear,
You must take life to task,
Though you're feeling austere,
You discard your mask,
You discover what's inside your head.

Suddenly it's there,
You see the light,
You are fully aware,
Your life isn't right,
To get rid of despair,
You then put up a fight,
The way you lived is now dead.

Your future's secured,
Though it feels bizarre,
To what you've endured,
You say, au revoir,
You've finally matured,
You now know who you are,
Life's lesson?
