When you go to appear,
Who has commanded you;
In His court to revere,
Repentance must pursue.
Bring no vain offerings,
Such an abomination;
For what the Sabbath brings,
Calls of convocation.
The Lord cannot endure,
Of solemn assembly;
Bringing what is impure,
With an iniquity.
For your appointed feasts,
Are troubling unto Him;
Not proper for the beasts,
Making Him feel so grim.
He is weary of them,
Hating of what they bear;
And would rather condemn,
Than salvation to share.
When you spread out your hands,
He will then hide His eyes;
Since you ignored commands,
That you said you despise.
Even though you say prayers,
He will never respond;
The illicit affairs,
Of others you have conned.
Wash and make yourself pure,
Remove your evil deeds;
Confess to God to cure,
Helping others their needs.
Learn how to seek justice,
Correcting oppression;
Doing righteous practice,
Stop earthly obsession.
Come now as we gather,
Although your sins may flow;
Just reason together,
Purging you white as snow.
