"Moonlight Dreams"
By Cynthia Louise Baker Bogear
written March 9,2021

Closing my eyes fading into the moonlight,
With many thoughts dwelling in my mind,
Words once spoken softly from the lips,
Now are locked in the bedrooms of my mind,
Dreaming of missed emotions that could only unlock doors,
Oh how I wish I could let you peek at the bedroom I keep,
Watching you through the keyhole of my door wishing to reach for you,
Amazed to find you so close to me for one door was made for you and me,
Peering through watching you move through my mind,
Why can't I say what I wish to say to free me,
Could you hear my voice if I spoke soft words in the shadows,
Drifting into the moonlight with me you could have your way with me,
The moonlight holds the key to the door that keeps me,
Peeking into the keyhole I watch you move through my mind,
Searching the doors to see what lies behind,
However the doors are kept locked for my needs,
Why is my comfort with you in the warmth of the sun,
When the moonlight calls I remain hidden behind the doors,
Lurking outside my doors is further than some have travelled,
Peering out watching I wonder what you search for,
Oh how easy it could be to open the door I hide behind for you to see,
Watching you wanting to touch your skin and breath in your air,
Why do I say such things when we locked our door,
Open I would visit our door but sealed it would keep my heart from breaking,
Oh how my mind has kept me hidden away,
Lurking behind my bedroom door I hope you find me,
For I'm ready to let go of all my keys,
If only I could open our door then maybe I could say the words that remain,
Closing my eyes drifting into the moonlight letting you into my moonlight dreams.
