We often feel a shadow hanging over us
We don`t say anything we don`t make a fuss,
And this feeling of it always being there
Is not something that we are willing to share.
Relentlessly it seems to follow us around
And from its presence we can`t make ground,
But is it all in the mind I often wonder
Maybe there is a way to put it asunder.
Maybe we see our own shadow from the sun
And try as we may from this we cannot run,
We could liken it to that shadow overhead
So now I think it is time to put this to bed.
To get rid of this shadow I may know a way
It is simple and it may just save the day,
It`ll lighten our mood and make us feel better
But to do this you must follow this to the letter.
Always keep your face towards the sunshine
And you will soon see that you will be just fine,
Shadows will fall behind you which you won`t see
So from a shadow hanging over you, you`ll be free.
