Winning
There were times when one felt so incredibly happy.
On the occasion, of achieving a great victory,
By fair play, being focused and out thinking the opponent.
Such a result warms the heart at the very achievement,
To there has been a change which is not very encouraging,
But some seem to revel on the outcome as it is a winning.
Will do anything to such an extent, even the intent to cheat,
Because it is the way to conquer, not the perceived shame of defeat.
But why are they so obsess, with that thing call winning,
Do they see as a way of getting a form of peer demoting?
And so, go about without having to lose any type of face.
That was the only thing to do, to avoid disgrace.
I know a person who once stayed away from a competition,
Because his opponent would beat him into oblivion
But the moment when he was to play one, he could vanquish.
On winning his bragging and boasting never finished
Winning at any cost is a behavior now so grossly displayed,
In many of the television soaps and even movies seen everyday
Though entertaining but what it is depicting, can be lasting,
On the minds of the future, yes, the little children
Look at wrestling one can see such athleticism,
And some of the moves can at sometimes be mind boggling,
As one sit and enjoy evenly matched and entertaining contest, the moment is deflated,
The referee gets distracted something happens and a victory secured by one who cheated.
There are those who seem un-nerved by being called a loser.
And so, may take cheating to a level so much higher.
Therefore, to ensure that this may not be a weight on the mind.
Resort to cheating to be always look good and in the winners' line.
Recent we say a grown man behaved in a manner so outrageous,
Clearly lost but would not be a loser, and so was so very ungracious.
So, entrenched in his parallel universe and mind that he was a winner.
The facts and the stats the ideal proof to him certainly did not matter.
But what makes matters worse and was to and extent so jaw dropping.
To see many of those of and Ivy league education and learning
Was so adamant and no argument no matter how so sound could not sway,
Thus, bringing to proverbs about a fool and his folly on display.
No matter what one should act maturely and in actions be responsible,
Because this can be taken as factual be the weak and gullible
The words of someone they trust can enough to bias a decision,
Resulting in violence and go further to the coup or insurrection.
So, parents always monitor you children very carefully.
Take time out to analyze and explain to them clearly!
Teach them about the joy and beauty of competitively winning,
That cheating is a quick fix, very empty and retarding, but there is a lesson learnt from losing.
