Be merciful unto me, O God,
For in You my soul takes refuge;
Purge me of sin that made me flawed,
Purify me with a deluge.
Shelter me shadowed by Your wing,
Till the destructive storms pass by;
Making a solace that will bring,
From all my foes that cheat and lie.
I cry out to You, the Most high,
Who fulfills Your purpose for me;
Anxiety making me cry,
Finding shelter where foes not see,
You send from Heaven to save me,
Putting to shame foes who trample;
For they not follow Your decree,
Please punish as an example.
You send out Your steadfast love,
A faithfulness that I will trust;
As the blessings flow from above,
For I know You are fair and just.
I am in the midst of tigers,
Lying amid fiery beasts;
Roaring as though of one hungers,
Preparing as part of their feasts.
Let Your glory cover the earth,
Be exalted up in Heaven;
Showing of you priceless worth,
From all the blessings as given.
My foes set a net where I step,
While my soul is bowing down;
But You has given me a prep,
Avoiding me to wear a frown.
My heart is remaining steadfast,
I will make melody and sing;
Please make Your wrath to ever last,
Anger on my foes that will bring.
Because Your steadfast love is great,
Your faithfulness up in the clouds;
Your glory we patiently wait,
As an umbrella to the crowds.
