Poetic Verses
That folly
Even though we are living in an era of such access,
To information, even the quantity can be excess.
But there are some people whose methods will not change,
Believing that their knowledge base should take center stage.
Take for instance the actions during this pandemic,
Some leaders action can be seen as one of being despotic,
Know that they were dealing with something that is so formidable,
Believing that they were the ones, to whom all were answerable.
But one who came out and certainly apportioned blame on another country,
Even so whatsoever it was he who was charged with the responsibility,
To look after the welfare, as a duty of his citizenry
A task which seems to show how he failed miserably.
No matter, spent time to challenge those who are the professionals,
Those who spent years at practice, experienced and reputation so impeccable,
So his inertia increase could be consider the real causation
Of the spread and can be considered a form of decimation.
Seeing this in the country some of the leaders and supporters took,
The time to support the action, but most of all to get in the good book,
Being so obsequious that they raised not a modicum of objection,
Following like sheep taking not form of personal protection.
His cavalier behavior was rewarded when he too suffered an infection,
But because of the importance accorded to any person in his position,
Was promptly treated , one can imagine the type and level of care
So no matter the theatrical show he still wanted to be among us here.
This disease on many has brought to many families, great sorrow,
As in some cases they watched friends and loved ones departed in pain and horror,
And to some countries has wiped out an important lifeline industry,
It is a wonder how they may survive as reserves may become shaky.
So time to have that social conscience and be benevolent
Because this situation has left a section of the population so dependent,
But in time this will cause such a strain on the publics purse,
Readily depleting years of storing, but there is no other recourse.
Yes the lesson learned shall be harsh, but it is an eye opener,
But even though we may not see the formation of pending danger,
There should be that realization that there is that possibility,
That as we live we are surrounded by lots and at their mercy.
